ALGEBRA III
COURSE DESCRIPTION
Semesters 1 and 2
The Algebra III course is designed to serve as a bridge to college mathematics courses. Students will work on expanding the foundations learned in Algebra I and II courses; and will continue working with expressions; which define different types of functions. Other topics to be included at introductory levels are: statistics; discrete mathematics; trigonometry; and pre-calculus. Students will learn graphing of different functions such as conic sections; basic trigonometric functions; complex numbers and polar coordinates. A TI graphing calculator is required for the course.

PREREQUISITE – completion of Algebra I; Geometry; and Algebra II with a grade of C or higher

*An alternate track for some students may be: (non-university bound students; for example) completion Algebra I; Geometry; and Algebra II with a grade of C or higher; then completion of Fundamentals of Algebra II or Advanced Fundamentals of Algebra II with a C or higher
