Course title

AP Physics C: Mechanics Online

Pre-requisite

Pre-Requisites: Physics and Pre-Calculus. Co-Requisites: AP Calculus AB or higher

Course description

This is a second year course that includes a review of general physics; a review of mechanics topics with applications involving Calculus; rotational motion; thermodynamics; mathematical properties of waves; electronic circuits and quantum physics. Mechanics covers kinematics; Newton?s laws of motion; work; energy; and power; systems of particles and linear momentum; circular motion and rotation; oscillations; and gravitation. Introductory differential and integral calculus is used throughout the course.† Design and analysis of laboratory experiments are emphasized.† Students spend between two and three hours each week completing laboratory assignments.† AP Physics C is equivalent to the engineering/physics major college-level course.† This course will address the needs of an AP curriculum and prepare students for the option of taking the College Board?s Advanced Placement Mechanics C Exam.
