‚ÄúAP Seminar‚Ä¶engages students in cross-curricular conversations that explore the complexities of academic and real-world topics and issues by analyzingdivergent perspectives. Using an inquiry framework; students practice reading and analyzing articles; research studies; and foundational literary andphilosophical texts; listening to and reviewing speeches; broadcasts; and personal accounts; and experiencing artistic works and performances. Studentslearn to synthesize information from multiple sources; develop their own perspectives in research-based written essays; and design and deliver oral andvisual presentations; both individually and as part of a team.‚Äù
1 - Exemplar of different discussion modes for literary and argumentative analysis 2 - Exemplar of literary text analysis through varied perspectives 3 - PTI; AP Seminar major research and writing assignment 4 - PT2; AP Seminar major reading analysis; research; and writing assignment 5 - Exemplars of analysis frameworks 6 - Exemplars of literary nonfiction; visual media; and poetry analysis 7 - Summer reading analysis/writing assignment 8 - Sample writing test prompt analysis I have also included the Course Syllabus for an outline of the course's major units. There is a list of exemplar activities for each unit on the syllabus; essential questions and aligned learning objectives; and exemplar nonfiction and literary pieces listed for study.

The decision to deny the acceptance of AP Seminar as an English requirement is twofold.¬† This course is only applied¬†as an Elective credit¬†if student has a high enough score at all three Tri-University schools.¬†¬†Additionally; the AP curriculum and the school‚Äôs course descriptioN/Assignment breakdown does not demonstrate enough of the content of the course is English specific for it to fulfill an English requirement.¬†¬†
