Applications of Biotechnology is an inquiry-based laboratory course that emphasizes essential concepts of Biotechnology using physics bases concepts. The emphasis will be on real world applications. Students will explore topics such as nucleic acids, cloning, plant science, light and energy, PCR and protein analysis, and forces of energy and motion. The course is aligned with the new AZ state science standards and will include enriching experiences in science and engineering practices, cross cutting concepts, and systems thinking. A combination of guided instruction and collaborative learning will enrich the learning experience of students with varied learning styles. This course fulfills the CFSD third year science graduation requirement.
