Course description

2 semesters - 1 credit. Prerequisite: Completion of Biology and Chemistry. This inquiry-based science class will focus on the fundamental study of the universe. Students will investigate the foundation and tools of astronomy. The composition and peculiarities of the planets and our moon will be examined. The students will investigate stars and the dynamics of the solar system. The creation of the universe including different theories will be explored. Students will investigate these phenomena and others through a sequence of lab activities where they will make observations; analyze data; and complete research in order to develop an understanding of how these forces affect the Earth.
