Course Description: 

Students will learn to identify major stars and constellations. Fundamental concepts of astronomy will include a brief history of astronomy, gravity and space travel, planetary orbits, structure and processes of the sun, characteristics and formation of various types of objects which make up the solar system, and the classifications and life cycles of stars. We will use telescopes and mathematical equations to measure temperatures, distances, and motions of the stars.
