An integrated applied science course that explores the complex nature of the ocean environment and the ocean’s critical role in our global system. Students will further develop their critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills through an in-depth study of physical-chemical-geological oceanography, marine ecology dynamics, atmosphere-ocean interactions, and their interconnections. Consideration is also given to the role humans play in the marine system. Course work includes labs, individual and group projects, career exploration, and problem-based inquiry learning.
