The course entails the study of mathematics using problem-solving strategies and math skills as related to everyday consumer situations. It will improve your ability to work with numbers and make you a better reader. In each section, you’ll find real world applications involving fractions, decimals, percent problems, tables, graphs, probability, and statistical analysis in the solution of problems related to topics in personal finance, interest, all types of taxation, investment opportunities, and retirement accounts. You will use the concepts from this course throughout your life. Hence the “real” name of this course….Math for Life.

Per ABOR, in order to be considered a math, a course needs to meet the following requirement "Applicants must complete 4 high school credits in college preparatory mathematics including algebra I and II, geometry, and culminating in 1 credit in quantitative methods (e.g., advanced math, calculus, statistics, data science, modeling, artificial intelligence) for which algebra II or a comparable course in quantitative methods is a prerequisite."
