Course description

Communications is a year long course separated into "Communications A" for semester 1 and "Communications B" for semester 2. Although there is a split in the semesters through Canvas; the content is treated as one course where the skills will continue and develop from one semester to the next. This course will help students develop high school level skills in: writing; speaking; and listening. As the second high school English course students take; Communications will dive; in-depth; to the principles; mechanics; techniques; tools; processes; and aesthetics of successful communication in both the academic and professional world. Throughout the year; students will give speeches; create a podcast; participate in debates; hold group discussions; participate in a professional interview; and write various forms such as resume and blog.
