Course description

Students will be exposed to the fundamentals of communication prior to formal speeches.† Students will become familiar with the various components of a speech and make presentations to the class for personal experience.† Students will study organizational patterns; research techniques; nonverbal skills; self-evaluation and presentation skills.† Some emphasis will be placed on written communication specifically as it relates to research and speech outlines.† Nonverbal communication and interpersonal communication will also be explored as they relate to the communication process.† The emphasis in this course will be public speaking.
