Course Description: This course is designed to provide the student with the opportunity to attain Spanish proficiency in four basic skills?listening; speaking; reading; and writing. Classroom activities are designed to develop the ability to understand and to speak "everyday Spanish?.† Class time is spent primarily on oral acquisition through self-expression and situational dialogs reinforcing structural elements and thematically related vocabulary. In addition; the traditional and historical aspects of the Spanish language will be discussed since language learning is an expression and extension of its cultural components.
