Course description

This course will examine the world of digital literacy through podcasting--oral investigation and storytelling. Students will become familiar with different digital platforms in which to present research and findings. Students will also hone their speaking and listening skills when analyzing various educational podcasts which dive into high-interest issues that impact global communities; explore cultures and the human condition. Students will incorporate common analytic; reading and writing skills practiced in ELA. Socratic seminars will be facilitated to engage students in asking and answering essential Essential questions surrounding issues such as historical; cultural; and political contexts as well as evaluate other concepts such as bias that can appear in digital media. Students will learn how to record; test; publish and promote informative and persuasive podcasts.
