Course description
Drawing and painting III is an advanced-level studio course for students who have demonstrated proficiency in two-dimensional media and are ready to refine their artistic voice. Aligned with the Accomplished level of the Arizona Visual Arts Standards, this course emphasizes sustained investigation, technical mastery, and personal expression through drawing and painting. Students will explore a range of media--including graphite, charcoal, ink, watercolor, acrylic, and mixed media--while developing conceptually driven work. Projects will challenge students to synthesize technique, composition, and meaning, supported by sketchbook research, critiques, and portfolio development for collegiate or professional presentation.
