Course title

Engineering Technology 2: Air and Space

Pre-requisite

Engineering Technology1; Land and Sea

Course description

Engineering Technology 2: Air & Space is the second year of this two-year pathway focused on drones and technology. The course has CTE461 Engineering Technology 1: Land & Sea as a required prerequisite and is open to all twelfth grade students. From the first day you will be immersed in a hands-on journey to explore, build, and fly machines to solve increasingly complex problems, including those that directly connect to real world problems. The course begins with the fundamentals of flight and then breaks into the complexities of the constraints involved in designing for applications in space, with the opportunity to dive deeper into only the concepts most relevant to your interests and your machines as you build from scratch or adapt a platform to solve for a design challenge you and your team select for the final capstone project. There will also be at least two field experiences to see first hand the connection between the class and how these concepts are used every day in the real world. Students will be prepared to pass and receive their FAA Part 107 Commercial Drone Pilots license. Ready to take off?
