Sem 1:

Project: Impacts of Erosion and Deposition:Students determine where major erosion and deposition occur during and after precipitation on our school campus or at a local park.

Lab: Modeling Water Erosion: Students complete a virtual lab; accompanied with a lab report; where they model and observe stream processes; including factors that affect erosion and deposition.

Project: Modeling Earth?s Tilt: Students construct a model that shows how Earth?s rotation causes day and night. Once they have completed their models; students write a multi-paragraph paper describing their model and the conclusions drawn from activity.

Sem 2:

Project: Roads in a Rainforest:Students conduct research and evaluate how various roads that have been built in rainforests impact people and the Earth. Based on research and evaluation; students write a position paper expressing whether they are for or against the building of roads in rainforests.
