Course Goals/Description:
This course is part of the CHS Career & Technical Education department. Throughout this College & Career Readiness course, a minimum of 51% of instruction/learning time will be “hands-on” in a lab-based setting. In addition to improving students’ technical skills in the field of Film/TV/Graphic Design, this course integrates coherent and rigorous content (reading, writing, math, science, etc.) in support of improving students’ academic skills. We cover film & video production, as well as animation and deisgn. Emphasis is placed on common academic threads: writing, visual composition, and application of the principles and elements of design as they relate to each content area. The class prepares for an array of media careers, and college and university programs in related disciplines. We employ diverse technology and versatile design skills applicable to numerous professions. In our computer lab, we use industry-standard software from Adobe.
