Due to the Arizona State Department requirement to teach all 28 essentional high school science standards by the 11th grade year, Deer Valley Unified School District has created course pathways to ensure all 28 standards which cover four genres of science are covered. One pathway for students in our district is to take Biology, Environmental Science, and Forensics. This pathway will ensure that the students engage in all 28 essential standards (covering life sciences, physical science, space and earth science, and chemistry). We would like to have ABOR consider the Forensics course as LADV, if students take this particular pathway of science courses in Deer Valley Unified School District since Forensics will require that the students take 2 lab sciences before taking Forensics.
Requested competency code:
- Lab Science
Approved competency code:
- Integrated science
LADV not approved since a pre-req forensics is not required.
