Forensic Science is the application of science (chemistry, physics, and biology) through hands-on labs and learning initiatives that will lead students through a foundation of law and criminal justice, history of forensics, and modern scientific advances in the field. Topics include the investigation of fingerprinting, fiber analysis, ballistics, trace evidence analysis, poisons, drugs, blood samples and spatters, behavioral analysis, and the role of computers in Forensics. Students are taught the proper collection, preservation, and laboratory analysis of various samples. Prerequisite: Biology and Chemistry Students participate in an average of 2.5 hours per week in labs. See the list of labs below as well as a more detailed list attached.
