Course description

An innovative, science-based semester course designed to develop student awareness of Forensic Science and the applications, techniques, and authentic processes used. This course introduces students to the Application of Biology, Chemistry, and physics in criminal investigations. Topics include crime scene protocol, fingerprinting, blood evidence analysis, other physical/trace evidence, and DNA analysis. LABS: Labs for this class were conducted on a weekly to bi-weekly basis throughout the semester. An Introduction to Forensic Science, each lab lasted over an hour and a half. Labs: Microscopes, Investigation Processes, Photographing the Crime Scene, Physical Evidence: Hairs, Fibers, & fingerprints Labs: Hair Analysis, Fiber Analysis, Fingerprint Analysis, Dusting for prints Physical Evidence: DNA, Arson, & Blood Labs: DNA Electrophoresis Virtual Lab, Arson Investigation, Blood Spatter Analysis As well, I have uploaded the course's syllabus as a file.
