Course Description: Biology is the study of life, which was created by God. It is in the studying ofthat life that we can learn more about the Creator and the detail in which life is created. The courseis an introduction to plants and animals, as well as ecology. The structure, taxonomy, processesof life, and relationships of both vertebrates and invertebrates will be studied. Basic concepts ofplant life through a study of the structure, functional form, reproduction and ecology of selectedplant groups from the plant kingdom. Laboratory activities will be focused on animals in each ofthe phyla and plant exploration.Laboratory Description: The laboratory provides practical, hands-on learning experiences and isimportant to the success in the class. The laboratory work will focuses on scientific methodology,especially methods of cultivation, identification, and the control of microorganisms.
