In the Honors second-year Mandarin Chinese course; students continue to develop novice-level communication skills in the three modes of communication: interpretive; interpersonal; and presentational. Students expand their language of frequently used vocabulary and grammar in order to communicate in a variety of familiar settings while developing a cultural understanding. The concepts will be taught through a variety of cultural themes; authentic resources; and instructional techniques. **Honors classes will include a more in-depth study; application; and enrichment of the language in authentic situations. †
