Please note that our Humane Letters class is a 2-hour seminar that counts as 2.5 credits per semester. Out of those 2.5 credits, 1 credit counts towards their History requirement in all four years (9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grade.) Each year, they read original source history texts and study history along with their study of literature and philosophy. In 9th grade alone, they read: The Federalist Papers (selections), The Lincoln-Douglas Debates (selections), Stephen Crane, The Red Badge of Courage, Harper Lee, To Kill a Mockingbird, Henry David Thoreau, Walden and Civil Disobedience, Frederick Douglass, A Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, an American Slave and other works. A complete list of all of our history reading materials can be found on this website: https://trinitymeadowview.org/academics/curriculum/humanities/reading-list/
