IB Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches HL is designed for students who want to study mathematics in depth and gain a strong formal understanding of the subject. The course emphasises abstract reasoning, logical problem-solving and mathematical generalisation, while also exploring real-world applications of advanced mathematics.
This course is best suited to students who enjoy analytical thinking and who may go on to study mathematics, engineering, physical sciences, economics or other subjects with a significant mathematical component at university. Alongside technical mastery, students also develop critical thinking, creativity and resilience, attributes central to the IB Learner Profile and essential for success in higher education and beyond.
