Course description

This course is a continuation of the two-Year Course Math Studies course 5/6. Completion of this two-Year Course is a necessary requirement for an IB diploma. It is designed to further develop logical; critical and creative thinking as the students learn to appreciate math in the world around them. Students will study statistics; sets; logarithms; probability; functions; and an introduction to differential calculus. Students must complete an IB portfolio project which involves a mathematical investigation; modeling task and written report. Students must also prepare for and take the IB external exam. Students must be able to communicate mathematical arguments - both orally and in writing.
