Course description

This course is aligned to the AZ College and Career Ready Standards and fulfills the third mathematics credit for graduation. Integrated Mathematics 5-6 H provides students conceptual development and opportunities for procedural fluency to integrate the STEM ACCR-M standards and Statistics standards. This course integrates mathematical modeling of real world data with focus on integration of technology; inquiry based learning; critical thinking and application in culminating unit projects. Algebraic concepts include: polynomials with real coefficients; factors of polynomials; root functions; radical and rational equations; logarithms from exponential functions; model periodic phenomena; Geometric concepts include: trigonometry in general triangles; two and three-dimensions; Statistical concepts include: random processes; inference and justification; sample surveys; decision outcomes-complex situations. Depending on individual test scores; students may earn dual college credit.
