Course description

This course is aligned to the AZ College and Career Ready Standards; University and Community College standards for freshman level college courses and fulfills the fourth mathematics credit for graduation. Integrated Mathematics 7-8 H will provide students conceptual development and opportunities for procedural fluency to integrate the STEM ACCR-M standards; Calculus PUHSD District standards and Statistics standards. This course integrates mathematical modeling of real world data with focus on integration of technology; inquiry based learning; critical thinking and application in culminating unit projects. Algebraic concepts include: complex plane; vector quantities; matrices; systems of equations; Calculus concepts include: linear functions; using slope to interpret relationships; interpreting rates of change and identifying turning points; interpreting limits; using integrals to sum small pieces; Statistical concepts include: calculate expected values to solve problems. Depending on individual test scores; students may earn dual college credit.
