Course description

This course provides an introduction to statistics and probability that will prepare students for a college-level statistics course and life in a world filled with data.  Major topics include: analyzing distributions of univariate data; analyzing relationships with bivariate data; collecting data using sampling and experimentation; probability and random variables; sampling distributions; and confidence intervals and significance tests for means and proportions from one or two samples. Additional topics may include chi-square tests and inference for the slope of a least-squares regression line.  Use of technology, including online applets and graphing calculator, will be prominent in the course.
