Course description

This course builds a deeper understanding of marketing-related concepts; preparing students for employment in various sales; customer service; advertising; and digital promotion positions. Students explore economic; legal; and ethical situations such as sports contracts and endorsements; video game sponsorships; and travel and tourism packages. Students will demonstrate learning through conducting marketing research and creating a marketing campaign for an organization such as a vacation rental; a retail store; service provider; a non-profit organization or a sports team. By successfully completing this course; students will earn economics credit required for graduation. Students enrolling in this course are strongly encouraged to join DECA; the Career and Technical Student Organization associated with marketing; hospitality; finance; and management. Opportunities through DECA include leadership development field trips; travel; and competition.†
