Course Description:
Plant Science is designed for students to learn preparatory concepts and skills through laboratory, greenhouse, and field experiences which focus on the details of horticultural practices. This class provides an interdisciplinary systems approach to the study of plant development and identification, soil science, plant health, disease and disorders, care and maintenance of plants, greenhouse operations, introductory floral design, landscape design, and plant research through a problem-solving approach and leadership at local and national FFA competitions, and the district science fair, Explorations. A .5 science credit may be earned if Biology has already been taken. This magnet program is offered only at Rogers High School.
