Course title

Probability

Pre-requisite

Algebra 2

Course description

This course is designed to give students a solid understanding of probability that goes beyond the algebra I and algebra II curriculum. The course places a focus on discrete and continuous random variables; their expected values; and simulating outcomes of random experiments. Two papers requiring student-driven research will be required. Students should expect to learn how to use probability to predict future outcomes; analyze and solve problems using probability; and develop problem solving skills that allow them to analyze real-world applications of probability and use those skills to make decisions. A graphing calculator is required for this course.
