Students study the practical application of mathematics using problem-solving strategies and math skills as related to everyday consumer situations. Included are real world applications involving fractions, decimals, percents, tables, graphs, probability and statistics in the solution of problems related to topics such as personal finance, interest, taxes, and investments. The course content is designed to address the requirements of the State of Arizona as outlined in the State Mathematics Standard and as assessed by the state testing program.
