ELA Strategies 1-2

This course is designed to deliver targeted support to students who need improvement in both basic reading and writing skills with a focus on strategies to improve written expression. This course introduces and uses a wide range of texts from a variety of genres in order to teach and improve critical reading skills. This course also supports improvement in academic vocabulary and discourse. Language Arts Strategies 1-2 provides an increased time with high leverage standards to support success on the Arizona state assessment within the scope and sequence. This course also includes an emphasis on the composition of the multi-paragraph essay targeted to specifically build skills in expository and argumentative writing to support success on the Arizona state assessment.†
