Senior Studies is a two-credit, two-period class that combines language arts, social studies, and service-learning. The first semester offers an interdisciplinary approach to thematic units such as - Induction, Writing, History., Social Responsibility, relative issues, and Personal Expression. The class provides students more experiential learning opportunities through community outings, panel discussions, long-term service projects, and group work. During the second semester, students partake in an Independent project of their own design. Projects include internships, service projects, academic research, and select reading. At the end of the semester students present their work to a committee of adults and peers, as well as to a larger audience during a Community Presentation. 50 hours of community service are required each semester. "Students will need access to a reliable form of transportation.
