Course description

STEM is a freshman-level introductory science course. Students will experience many hands-on opportunitiesand apply scientific methods as they explore the physical world in which they live. Key topics include thenature of science; measurement and graphing; motion; forces; energy; waves; light; electricity and magnetism.Students will also learn introductory chemistry relating to atoms; molecules and bonding. Students willdevelop their problem solving; critical thinking and evidenced-based reasoning skills. Each student?s grade isdetermined by a variety of assessment strategies including quizzes; tests; notebooks; laboratory work andreports; class presentations and projects.
