Course description

In U.S. History Seminar; students will explore key topics related to U.S. History including early European colonization; the American Revolutionary War and early American government; the Age of Democratic Republicanism; the Westward Expansion; the Civil War and Reconstruction; the Gilded Age; the Progressive Age; the Great Depression; World War II; the Cold War; Civil Rights Movements; the Vietnam War; ascendant Conservatism; and Globalization for 21st Century. †To explore these topics; students will analyze and discuss primary sources and secondary sources in a largely seminar-based environment. Each seminar is co-taught by two teachers who have been specifically chosen to bring different perspectives; often conflicting; to the seminar table. Students are primarily graded on essays; research papers; and seminar participation.
