WRITING FOR COLLEGE 12 This class provides students with the opportunity to develop their writing through a variety of skills; including but not limited to argumentation; research; and impromptu responses. Using a workshop format; this course focuses on writing as a process; with a strong emphasis on revision. Students will enhance their ability to read and analyze selected models of prose writing; as well as synthesize other authors? ideas. A major component of the course is a multimedia project and/or portfolio emphasizing MLA documentation. The class will also explore the growing technology available in school libraries and computers. This writing intensive course aligns with the English Language Arts Common Core State Standards. LENGTH OF COURSE: One semester CREDIT: .5 English credit GRADE PLACEMENT: 12
