Zoology is a survey course of the animal kingdom with an emphasis on vertebrate and invertebrate anatomy, physiology, phylogeny, classification, diversity, behavior, development, and ecology. Concentration in the invertebrates will center on the field of Entomology (study of insects) but will include the sponges, single-celled animals, worms, soft-bodied animals, and the spiny-skinned animals. Concentration in the vertebrates will center on fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds, and mammals. Careers in the zoological sciences will be explored. Virtual and/or lab dissections and field work many be required. Prerequisite: Biology I.
