"The course includes some writing component; however, course is not devoted exclusively to English so can be not counted toward English requirement. ""English must include literature and have a substantial emphasis on grammar and composition. AP Seminar Tempe Union High School English August 10, 2018

The decision to deny the acceptance of AP Seminar as an English requirement is twofold.  This course is only applied as an Elective credit if student has a high enough score at all three Tri-University schools.  Additionally, the AP curriculum and the school’s course description/assignment breakdown does not demonstrate enough of the content of the course is English specific for it to fulfill an English requirement.
