Course description

Students are curious about the world around them; and what better way to spark that curiosity then to explore the scientific marvels that helped to shape the Earth and the space that surrounds it! Earth and Space Science is a very broad area of study; encompassing the major areas of geology; environmental science; oceanography; meteorology; and astronomy. This course will examine the topics of earth materials; such as minerals and rock formation; sculpting earth?s surface through weathering and erosion; and external forces from space as well as internal forces such as earthquakes; plate tectonics; and volcanoes. An exploration into Earth?s history and geological time are also examined. Hands on labs and anlysis reports are required.
