Course description

Graphic design is the creative planning and execution of visual communication. This course introduces the students to an art form that visually communicates a message to an audience. The focus is on studying and using layout and design concepts used in the graphic design field. You will employ both analog media (drawing with pencil and paper; etc.) and digital media -- using up-to-date computer tools (graphics hardware and software - for drawing; painting; layout; typography; collage; and photography). Projects include photo manipulation; sign/symbol design; design with typography; logo design; brochure design; packaging design; and CD cover design.
