Course description

Students in this course learn the arts of stage crafts. First year
students discover how to build basic set pieces and how to
load a set on stage while also applying the proper work habits
while in a theater workshop (safety protocols; communication;
etc.). Students will learn basic scene painting techniques;
lighting design and how to operate a light and sound system.
Students are also introduced to basic drafting techniques.
Students in this course will apply their skills and knowledge
while working on a production team to plan; design; construct
and produce two drama productions each year. While a
member of the production team; students develop work skills
such as creative thinking; leadership; communication and
responsibility. Students will develop a portfolio and resume
of experience to document their experience; skill and
knowledge as it relates to technical theater. Please email the
