Course description

This class is designed to provide students with a basic; working knowledge of photographic techniques. Students will become proficient in using digital SLR cameras in a variety of situations and for a variety of purposes; including nature; still-life; portrait; action; photojournalism and low-light situations. Students will experiment with lighting and digital manipulation techniques; up-to-date computer software and conceptual approaches in order to create visually compelling photographs. Students will also learn the fundamentals of art; the history of photography and study famous photographers; their works; and their styles through an electronic and traditional portfolio.
