Course description

Students in this introductory course will study the history; fundamentals; and cultural differences associated with graphic design. Using this knowledge base; students will analyze; interpret and evaluate existing graphic design pieces from different eras; and then practice these skills through the creation of their own designs by utilizing traditional art mediums; digital photography; and the Adobe Creative Suite software; to include Illustrator; Photoshop and InDesign. Students will use this experience to create products like logos; t-shirt graphics; business cards; posters; stickers; website buttons; magazine layouts; or portfolios.
