Course description

Film Analysis CP will challenge students to develop both critical and analytical skills in appreciating basic terms and elements common to filmmaking and film criticism. Students will become familiar with the history of film and the diversity of cinema through viewing and analyzing a selection of films from popular genres and subgenres from the 1930s to today. By focusing on different film styles; methods and techniques; students will gain a greater appreciation for the art of filmmaking.
