Week One:
Topics: Introduction to Photography
 Safety
 Discuss OSHA safety regulations and practices
 Discussion of State standards and essential skills taught through out this course
 Hand out syllabus & hand out and have returned the photo contract signed
 Read & discuss Introduction to Photography
 Begin exploration on backgrounds & foregrounds with assignments
 Composition
 Introduction to Skills USA

Week Two: Administer Photography Longitudinal Pre-Test
Topics: Composition & Lighting
 Introduce Photo Vocabulary
 Rule of Thirds
 Depth of Field
 Aperture & F-stop
 Lighting
 Study the Elements of Art & The Principles of Design
 Establish fundamentals of good composition & lighting; including studio lighting for formal portraits
Topics: Job Resume and Professional Dress and Job Preparedness
 Prepare for a job in the industry
 Various Resume prep assignments
 Fill out job applications
 Complete Resume and Reference list
 Discussion of Professional Dress

Week Three:

 List the factors; including personal traits; which contribute to the success of a graphic

 Research a business plan of an existing graphic communications business
