Course description

This course is a performance based program is designed to provide students at all levels of ability with musical instruction and experiences; which will include note reading; picking; strumming and chord progressions. Students will be provided various styles and genres of music and will perform in both large group and small ensembles. Solo opportunities are also available as desired by the student.
Grade Level: 7-12
Entrance Requirements: Mandatory performances evenings and possibly weekends – Ability to attend occasional night and weekend practices – Must provide/purchase specific concert attire
Materials: Essential Elements for Guitar by Will Schmidt and Bob Morris. Acoustic guitar and method book must be provided by the student (nylon strings preferred).
