Course description

Students in this course will study art history and the fundamentals of Photoshop. Students will analyze; interpret and critique art pieces from different eras; and then practice Photoshop skills by creating their own digital interpretation of artists’ work. Students will use the Adobe Creative Suite software package; including Photoshop; Flash and InDesign; as well as audio and video software to create multimedia projects. Students will create their own online digital portfolio with original artwork inspired by abstract; cultural; Impressionist; Renaissance and Surrealist artworks. Topics covered include color theory and the basics of layers and effects; the abstract artwork of the 1960s; realism and photo effects and the art of the Renaissance; basics of animation and the cultural art of the Mexico. This unique course is designed to meet the Arizona State Visual Art standards and all the requirements of dual enrollment for CIS120DF. This class is available for art credit.
