Course description

This course will continue to build on the foundational skills mastered in Spanish 1-2 but with a greater challenge and complexity in grammar; vocabulary; and authentic text. This course is primarily delivered in the target language and therefore students are expected to expand on previously learned communication strategies and begin to communicate exclusively in Spanish on a variety of familiar and unfamiliar topics. Through the study of Mexico and the Hispanic influence on the Regions of the United States; students will utilize their knowledge of the language to discuss cultural elements such as food; architecture; family structure; health care systems; traditions and more. Throughout the year; students will be expected to apply language skills and cultural awareness outside of the school environment.
