Graphic/Web Design 1; 2 is designed for students to create and explore traditional and digital art as a means of visual communication. Students will use Apple's iMac computers loaded with the latest Adobe software to make print and web designs. Traditional hand drawing will be taught as a means to practice layout and design skills prior to creating the design on the computer. Students will participate in a series of critiques; which will allow them to interpret; analyze; and evaluate graphic design pieces from a contemporary; historical and cultural perspective. All students are expected to create designs; which will be critiqued and evaluated so that the artwork can be revised to be included in a professional portfolio by the end of the school year.
