Course description

Unified Music is an inclusion program that combines individuals with intellectual disabilities (first-time musicians) and individuals without intellectual disabilities (may or may not be first-time musicians) in a program for training in music literacy and performance. Instructors may choose to focus on vocal skills or instrumental music. Students will learn; practice; and perform together; alongside one another; in a meaningful and integral capacity. Focus is on personal development: appropriate peer relationships; sense of efficacy and lifelong enjoyment of music.
